A blanket of comfort & calm... surrounding the people... absorbing their shock & grief, their fears & uncertainties.... comforting & healing... scattered emotions & physical pain... all being absorbed... and transmuted through the strands of our blanket... into loving positive energy... see them renewed with love & hope & strength... comforted under a blanket of love...

See the blanket growing.... boosted by every thought... every energy transference... see it extending out around the world... tucking it in around everyone affected... around creatures of land & sea & air... a blanket that never wears thin... a blanket that renews & heals & grows...

settling itself over the world.... calming & loving... comforting & healing... people in every walk of life... gently reassuring & encouraging... helping more & more people to breathe easy & feel their connection....

Meet me at the water's edge

and dance to an ancient rhythm

I was already working on this canvas when I discovered Moon Daughter writing about a New Moon healing ritual, started by The Divining Women... they call it 'Meet us at the water'. 

Well, the words 'meet me at the water's edge' just kept creeping in to my mind, so i laid that first phrase down on the canvas I had ready to go & words i had already jotted down followed on naturally. The second part begins with the central spiral & the words just flowed as I wrote... the design took care of itself as I went. One of those "Awen" moments of Divine Inspiration.

New Moon is approaching.... at 04:08, Tuesday 10th August in the UK... so why not why not come to the waters edge & add your thoughts to the stream of energy that is flowing. It doesn't have to be at the exact time of the new moon... the New Moon energies are strong for a day or two either side, so just pick a time that feels right for you. And you only have to visualise being beside the water to be there in spirit... a bowl of water, a photograph or taking a bath can help aid connection. See you there ; )

Dawn...

 ...just in case you're not up at this time of morning ; )

This was Thursday morning...

a beautiful golden dawn...

a lone crow in a tree, which is relevant for me...

and if you click to enlarge, you can just see swallows wheeling in the sky...

and this was friday at sunrise...

i felt a sense of excitement as i greeted the day...
a sense of something to come...

I don't know what, but it seems that energies are moving in exciting ways for me... I can feel it. Things have not been stagnant, but I have been meandering for quite a while, as if preparing for something... now it is like i can smell the ocean not far ahead of me and anticipation is building.

This dawn seems to herald more than a new day... not just on a personal level... it seems much bigger, and I visualise golden rays of dawn light touching all of humanity... bringing light to souls caught in darkness... to awaken & heal... to brighten the path of those just finding their way... to guide & reveal... to warm all our hearts, to nourish & re-vitalise...

Wherever you are, may you have sunshine in your heart!

All The Rivers Flow Into The Sea...

 ... yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, there they flow again. Ecclesiastes 1:7

I find myself thinking of this biblical quotation as I sit by the riverside... gazing at water still shaded from the early morning sun... watching heads of willow seeds drift slowly by... all the rivers flow into the sea...

I start adding my thoughts to the flow....  love & healing... flowing down the river... to the sea... out into the ocean... mingling with the currents.... flowing to where it is needed... I see strands of energy... light... moving with the current.... spreading out.... more & more strands multiplying... shooting out, spreading through the world's oceans... converging from all directions to bring light into troubled waters... so that we can once again see blue skies reflected in pure, clean waters...

As the sun begins to light the shadows along the riverbank, I visualise the shadows of disaster & destruction lifting from our oceans... I pray for clarity & purity to return... for the waters, the sea & plant life in the ocean & along the coast.... I notice aeroplane trails reflected in the river... an inverted 'V'... I picture it right way up... for victory in the recovery from the oil disaster.... i send my thoughts along the trails... to dissipate into the air & be carried by the wind to where they are needed... To the place where the rivers flow, there they flow again.

For the Oil Outpouring

Are you helping or adding to it?.... please resist the urge to judge & utter recriminations, there is time for that later & plenty will do it anyway. If you feel horror, panic or distress, please consciously try to turn it around into hope, focus & strength... send positive thoughts to those actively working in the area... to those working for a solution, to those rescuing wildlife, to those directly affected so far, to the creatures, the plants, the water, etc etc......

Intention works...

 it has been shown time & again both in the scientific world & the spiritual. Visualise the wound closing, healing... the flow of oil from it being plugged... clear, healthy waters returning. Send energy to stem the flow & see it happening as often as you can throughout the day.... every time you boil the kettle...wash up... go to the loo... wait in a queue... once you have the picture in your mind it gets easier to recall the more you try.... associate it with the simple things you do. Actively help.

Here’s a vizualisation/meditation... you can expand on it or you can use parts of it at any time... spend as much time as you need on each part...

Prepare...

 ...set your scene... gather whatever tools or symbols you need to aid your focus & direct energy... perhaps a bowl of water with a floating candle would be appropriate here... crystals, stones... earth energy is vital.... connect to the Earth in whatever way you choose, either literally or through visualization... 

Connect...

See yourself in a place where you connect to the Earth... sitting against a tree, whose roots go deep into the Earth... on a boulder that reaches far into the ground... on a mountain, in a forest, it doesn’t matter, wherever you connect... connect... feel yourself becoming one with the Earth.... feel her steady resolve... feel the heartbeat...

Be part of it...

Take yourself to the source of the out-pouring... feel yourself rising through the earth on the ocean floor... Be there... see the turbulence where the oil meets the ocean... don’t panic, just observe... watch, feel... until you are fully present.... until you are fully part of it... 

Arc of light...

Feel the energy of the earth building in you... moving through you...  building... expanding... when you can contain it no longer, when you are tingling with energy, shoot out a beam of light (i’m seeing gold, but use whatever colour you choose)... straight out, up through the turbulence of the out-pouring.... see it arc above you... a streak of golden brilliance.... see it expand outwards... forming a canopy of light high above you... golden light extending in a brilliant dome that reaches out & down... around... as far as you can see... gradually extending down until it meets the ocean floor in all directions.... See the light forming a dome over the open wound on the sea-bed... holding the turbulence within....

Calm...

Hold it there a while.... letting the energy, the heart-beat, pulse through you... through the oil & water... around the sides of the dome of light... hold the turbulence within... breathe calm into the waters until the turbulence settles... breathe calm... breathe....until the oil knows it is contained... 

Close the dome....

Then gradually draw the dome of light closer.... see it coming closer... down & in.... easing the oil back into the earth.... gently... slowly... contract the dome of light... keep it going... down & down until you are back within the earth... back into safety... and the golden light is sealing the gash in the earth’s crust....

Heal the wound...

Visualize the wound above you healing.... light & earth melding... closing the gap.... see it closing.... see it healing...until you are sealed safely in the Womb of the Earth... relax... you are safe in the arms of the earth.... rest a while.... breathe.... relax & breathe until you feel it is done.... then slowly come back to the place you started.... feel the warmth of the sun & a gentle breeze... hear water trickling somewhere nearby.... & know that all is well.....

Otherworlds...

... the lands of the faerie...

There are worlds within worlds, not too far away. Whole eco-systems, that are probably totally unaware that we are watching.... or are they?

...magical places...

Tiny communities to us, a metropolis to their inhabitants as they scurry about their daily life. Do they wonder what is 'out there' beyond their known world? As we do...

...look into the depths...

It's only a matter of scale. This could be a huge crevasse where unfortunates have plunged into the depths, never to be seen again...

...where we can't tread...

But step back, change your perspective... Have you ever just sat & gazed into the doorway of another world? Just sat & stared, not thinking...? Meditated awhile...? Listened to messages from another time, another place?

...gateways to somewhere...

You can get lost in there for a while... journeying... sensing... learning.... sharing the wisdom of ancient trees & nature sprites. They know we're here, the dryads... nymphs.... fairies... spirits of nature. Their name doesn't matter... feel their energy.... send them your love.... let your higher self connect...

...secret places...

Could someone be watching us, in our tiny world, wondering if we know they're there? Maybe they took a picture on their morning walk & posted it somewhere 'out there'.... we could be ethereal beings in someone else's fairy tale.... couldn't we?

...and fairy houses...

I just love old tree trunks.... Symbols of a greater tree, no longer living in the way it did... but living, thriving in other ways. Look at the textures, the patterns, the colours... they inspire me in so many ways. What about you? 

Hear the Ocean

Hear the ocean, wild yet calm...

I hear the ocean at my feet
I feel the pain in your heart

waves crashing, thundering emotion
vast, unending, rolling gently
swim with the tide...

Let me engulf you, comfort, protect you

The power of the ocean can lift you again

I was once asked to make "something like a place-card with the word 'ocean' on it". Apparently it was a significant 'little something' for a bridal couple. I know I also wrote a few words describing the ocean on a wavy line... i'd like to think i added a bit of a pastel wave aswell, but probably didn't! Anyway, that simple little exercise led to these words.

Inspiration can come from the simplest ideas. There's a saying that "inspiration comes from doing"... and how true that can be. Of course we need to think about ideas, but it's easy to sit thinking about a great idea & not actually do anything about it except think & dream some more.

The act of focussing on a few words & writing them out set off a train of thought... a few phrases jotted down & left to simmer for a while... a few splashes of colour & a few more words...

I have written it out before but this idea has been slowly formulating... I've 'seen' how i wanted it for a while. When i did Cari's "dance the old ways" the idea of using plaster through a stencil seemed perfect for this version.

While i was at it i prepared plaster stones/rocks for a couple of other pieces aswell, this one is on a 36x24 inch canvas. (the different colours at this stage are just different tpes of mixture)
Next came the colour.... white all over then acrylic the rocks so they looked shiny & wet even when the paint dried.... splashes of acrylic, emulsion, ink & more water.... here's a close up, click on the pic to see the detail.... & finally the words....


Don't you think the characteristics of the ocean mirror the range of human emotion (or do we mirror the sea)? We tend to use emotional terms to describe these different qualities.... angry seas, tempestuous waves, tranquil waters.... the waves undulate, rise up & down like our emotions.... our emotions, whether positive or negative, ripple out affecting those around us. Virtually every emotion can be related to a movement or state of the ocean... and of course both are dramatically linked to the moon.

We can use the ocean as a powerful meditational focus.... swim with the tide... imagining gentle rolling waves to bring our breathing under control... visualising turbulent emotions crashing themselves out onto rocks... until they are spent, then gently soothed back into calmer seas.... perhaps basking by moon or sunlight.... we can plunge deeper & deeper into the depths of the ocean & our soul to uncover hidden currents of hurts or inspiration, depending on our intent.... we can imagine ourselves as a pice of stone carried by the ocean, our troubles or illness being soothed & worn away... we can ride the waves & surf with our dreams, empowered by the ocean spray.... we can return to land, refreshed & grounded by the feel of sand & lapping waves, ready to return uplifted to our lives... let the power of the ocean lift you again....

Energetic Connections & Cord Cutting

We have an energetic connection with everyone we meet, talk to, think about etc, & equally we have energetic connections with people who think about us- even though we may be unaware of them.

We send healing thoughts & know that the energy sent is positive & helpful. Likewise, if someone is angry or worried about you that energy is floating around you, even though the person emitting that energy may be totally oblivious to the fact. Not every negative thought is going to affect us as we have our own natural systems to cope, such as optimism, joy, hope, love etc etc. Sometimes though, we can feel weary, drained, worried etc… emotions or even pain, that is not ours.

Bear this in mind when you are concerned about someone or some situation, or just watching the news…. I consciously try not to worry or be angry about things I can do nothing about & so add my ‘worry/angry energy’… instead I wish positive thoughts; strength, calm, vision, love, compassion etc that can benefit the person or situation. Sometimes easier said than done, but persevere & it becomes a habit!

You might like to try something i do now & again... cord cutting. This is about reclaiming your own energy or power & removing anything that is a threat to, or draining your energy. Sometimes i think it is useful to visualise all those energy ‘hooks’ that can drain you being washed away- I tend to use the image of a waterfall washing away the threads that bind me to other people (A sort of ‘energy shower’), then imagine warm golden sunlight energising me.

Create your own Sacred Space, however you feel comfortable. For some it is as simple as closing your eyes & visualize stepping into that waterfall… or creating a journey, for example walking through a forest & becoming aware of those things that tug at your energy reserves, before finding the waterfall… Others prefer the ritual of candles & incense, sitting infront of a personal altar or in a 'special' place… You may try several variations to find what is comfortable & effective for you.

It is a good practice to do a 'cord-cutting' at the end of a relationship for example, or after spending time with people who sap your energy (or if you think someone is sending malicious thoughts). Ask for all cords or attachments that do not benefit you to be cut, some people see the knots being untied, and ask for the negative energy to be returned to the source with love.

I like the image of water to cleanse & gently wash away those connections & entangled cords of attachment, but you could you could use the image of fire to sever the connections. Some people ask Archangel Michael to cut all cords with his sword of truth, others call on their idea of Deity…use whatever words & imagery that suit you. You can name specific people or situations that you want to disconnect from, & if you cut all cords you can ask for only those that are beneficial to be re-tied.

If you want, you can imagine fine threads leading out from your feelings & trace them back to who or where they come from….slowly, slowly follow the thread, let your intuition guide you, just watch the thread & travel back along it… eventually a name or place or image will pop into your mind. It is important not to have any pre-conceptions when you try this & the result can be surprising- but don’t judge, just cut or dissolve the thread with love…

Rainbow Shower

While on the rainbow theme.... This is a visualisation which I originally developed for a child with a serious illness, but it is effective against negativity of any kind. It's the sort of thing you can use when other people are the source of negative feelings, to lighten up the atmosphere in a room, office, shopping centre etc.

 Visualise the pain (negativity, fragile emotions, heavy/tired energy, past hurts etc) swirling around like a muddy gooey mess.... see it all swirling, going round & round.... pretend you're stirring it up with a big stick like you're making a mud soup.

Keep it stirring til it goes totally black.... keep stirring, that pain/negativity is pitch black now, but you start to see streaks of red- lovely dark red- keep going & the red gets brighter & brighter til there's no black left. See the red being streaked with orange, swirl it round til all the red is gone & you've got a lovely bright orange.....

Keep on like this to yellow, to green, blue, indigo, violet- all the colours of the rainbow. All that mud has turned into rainbow soup! Now imagine your soup boiling over & all of those rainbow colours that you mixed in shower all over you (or over the room or whoever is nearby who might need a bit of a boost). If you want the rainbow drops can go out of the door & down the road, giving everybody a rainbow shower. Can you feel all those little rainbows running all over, all happy & smiley & full of energy?

Spend a bit of time just enjoying your rainbow shower, then gather up the droplets, see them running together & fusing into a huge stream of white light that pours all over you... and the room and everyone else- filling you up with lovely positive energy & leaving you feeling refreshed & renewed!

You can spend as long as you like on this, but also can be done quite quickly as a quick 'pick-me-up'
