Rainbow Over The Transporter

The Transporter Bridge over the River Tees at Middlesbrough is quite an iconic feature of the landscape around here... opened in 1911, it is one of only three still in existence in Britain.

Sunlight through storm clouds always makes me smile... and as thunder rumbled we were treated to not just one rainbow, but two....

The bridge is there in the middle, but i had to lighten things up to actually see it... the skies were so dark!

Steel sentinels ignore the storm to deliver the constant transfusion of life-blood required to keep the wheels of industry turning.... electricity crackling from the sky & through their arms....

Information about the Transporter Bridge is here and here

What a dramatic sky! I had not realised there was only three of those bridges left.... I know I saw one as a kid but I have no idea which one now. I like rainbows, they always make me smile...

Wow! The bridge is quite a landmark while the rainbow appears glorious. Lovely pic.

S-just amazing to see such beauty in the context of so much built environment; and just how powerful were those rainbows - a true treasure to see the doubles which are reversed of course - and the contrast against the super dark sky - it must have felt like magic. Thanks for sharing. Go well. B

it certainly was dramatic... and darker where the light has been split into rainbows instead of passing through raindrops!
