Poppies


The poppies have been filling the fields lately...
I wish I'd caught these two while the rape was still in flower...
the red & yellow would have been really striking...



They're gorgeous & I'm making no apologies for the amount of snaps!

This oak is the "Dark Oak" mentioned earlier....

I love poppies, I have never seen them grow in the fields like that. your photos are beautiful.Take care, cinner

I loved seeing fields full of poppies as a child. I grew up in an arable area but Cornwall just doesn't really do that sort of farming.... Lovely pictures!

Beltane Man has solved the mystery. Poppies with wheat = ORGANIC farming! Pestisides and weedkillers kill off the poppies! So now we know! Thats why you most often only see then at the side of fields as thats where the spray has missed. Fields and wheat means no spray used.
